The original's full ingredient list, also published on the page, runs: cane sugar, dextrose, citric acid, salt, potassium citrate, sodium citrate, dipotassium phosphate, silicon dioxide, stevia leaf extract, natural flavors, vitamin C, vitamin B3, vitamin B5, vitamin B6 and vitamin B12. Cane sugar first, which is consistent with 11g of a 16g stick.

The company's own structured data gives a founding date of 2012, an address at 777 S Aviation Blvd, Suite 105, El Segundo, California, and names Unilever as the parent organisation. That is worth knowing in both directions: a multinational parent means real manufacturing and quality systems and someone to complain to, and it also means the brand's wellness positioning sits inside a consumer goods portfolio. Pricing was clear and unusually well behaved. A 16-stick carton of the original was $24.99 outright, which the page itself breaks down as $1.56 a stick, or $17.49 on subscription at $1.09 a stick — a 30% subscription saving. 2. The claims worth pushing back on
