Named Pharmacies & NPIsRxSpan MD is a telehealth platform founded by Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr John Diaz, offering compounded and brand-name GLP-1s alongside hormone therapy, hair loss, sexual health and a longevity range. It launched in 2026 and serves all 50 states.
On transparency it is among the best we have reviewed, and we checked rather than assumed. It names four dispensing pharmacies with phone numbers — Belmar, Strive, Epiq Scripts and Casa Pharma Rx — and publishes the NPI numbers of its lead prescribers, both of which we confirmed as active in the official CMS registry. Dr Carr is Family Medicine, licensed in CA, FL and CO; Dr Tenbrink is Emergency Medicine, licensed in TN and FL. Most platforms in this category name nobody at all.
Two things then undercut it. The terms of service contain no refund policy, no cancellation procedure and no auto-renewal disclosure — on a service explicitly sold by subscription. And brand-name pricing is steep: Wegovy at $1,349 and Ozempic at $1,299, against $299 a month cash at Amazon Pharmacy, which we verified and published this month.

3.7 / 5 — better disclosure of pharmacies and prescribers than almost anything else we have reviewed, attached to a subscription with no published cancellation terms and brand-name prices you should not pay.
The good part is unusual enough to say twice. This platform tells you which pharmacy is filling your prescription — all four of them, with phone numbers you can ring — and it tells you which clinicians are prescribing, with NPI numbers we looked up in the CMS registry and confirmed as active and licensed. Most of this industry will not tell you either thing. It also labels its compounded products as compounded, makes no claim that they are FDA-approved, and has not attracted an FDA warning letter. On the honesty measures that matter most in this category, it is doing well.
Two things stop it scoring higher, and one of them is fixable overnight. The terms of service — about 2,200 characters in total — say nothing about refunds, nothing about cancelling, and nothing about auto-renewal, despite the whole model being recurring billing. Until that changes, get your exit terms in writing by email before you pay. The other is pricing: $1,349 for Wegovy when the same approved medicine is $299 a month cash at Amazon Pharmacy is not a defensible number, whatever the service around it. Our advice is narrow and practical. If you want compounded medication from a platform that will tell you who made it and who prescribed it, this is a credible choice at a fair price. If you want the branded product, buy it somewhere else. And if you are drawn to the NAD+ and sermorelin side of the catalogue, note that the commissions there are double — and the evidence is not.

Yes, and yes — this is where RxSpan MD is genuinely strong. The site names its medical team rather than hiding behind 'licensed providers': care is delivered by Lion MD, led by Dr Ana Lisa Carr, MD and Dr Kelly Tenbrink, MD, and it publishes their NPI numbers, 1689841744 and 1346482684. We looked both up in the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System, the official CMS registry, and both are active records. Dr Carr is enumerated as Family Medicine with licences in California, Florida and Colorado; Dr Tenbrink as Emergency Medicine with licences in Tennessee and Florida. Publishing checkable NPIs is rare in this category and deserves credit. The founder, Dr John Diaz, also checks out independently as a board-certified plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills, trained at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, on the medical staff at Cedars-Sinai and a past president of the Los Angeles Society of Plastic Surgeons. One observation follows from all that verification, though: plastic surgery, family medicine and emergency medicine are all legitimate specialties, and none of them is obesity medicine or endocrinology. If you want a metabolic specialist, this is not where that is advertised.

Checked on 7 August 2026, the site advertised compounded semaglutide injection at $249 and semaglutide capsules at $249; compounded tirzepatide injection at $329 and tirzepatide capsules at $349. On the brand side, Zepbound was $1,069, Ozempic $1,299 and Wegovy $1,349. In the longevity range, NAD+ nasal spray was $249, sermorelin ODT $179 and PT-141 injection $199; hair loss started at $59 for spironolactone tablets and sexual health at $129 for a tadalafil combination. The compounded prices are mid-market — higher than the $99 flat-rate discounters, lower than several coaching-led programmes. We could not confirm on the page whether these figures are monthly or cover a longer supply, and the site publishes no fee schedule despite advertising 'no hidden fees', so establish exactly what you are buying before you pay.
Is the brand-name pricing competitive?
No, and this is the most useful thing on this page. Wegovy at $1,349 and Ozempic at $1,299 are close to undiscounted retail list prices. For comparison, and verified in our own review published this month, Amazon Pharmacy sells FDA-approved Wegovy and Zepbound at $299 a month cash with no membership required, from $25 a month with insurance. Manufacturer direct channels also price well below these figures. If you specifically want a branded, FDA-approved GLP-1, buying it through this route could cost you roughly four times what the same medicine costs elsewhere. The compounded prices here are reasonable; the brand-name prices are not, and there is nothing in the service that justifies the gap.
What is the cancellation and refund policy?
We could not find one, and that is a genuine problem rather than an oversight on our part. RxSpan MD sells on a subscription basis — the company's own description says customers 'have the option to purchase these products on a subscription basis'. We read the published terms of service in full on 7 August 2026. The document runs to roughly 2,200 characters and contains no refund policy, no cancellation procedure, no auto-renewal disclosure and no arbitration clause. There is no separate refund or returns page linked from the site. For a recurring-billing medical subscription, that is a significant gap: you are being asked to enter an ongoing financial commitment with no published terms governing how you exit it. Before signing up, ask in writing how to cancel, what notice is required, whether any part of a payment is refundable, and what happens to a shipment already dispensed. Get the answer by email and keep it.
Do I have to speak to a doctor?
Often not. The site's own FAQ says: 'Do I need to speak with a doctor? Not always. Many members are approved based on their assessment alone. If a clinician needs more information, a brief telehealth visit may be scheduled.' That is the standard asynchronous model across this industry and it is not unique to RxSpan MD, but it is worth being clear-eyed about what it means. A GLP-1 prescription carries real contraindications, and the same intake also gates testosterone, hormone therapy and peptides. A questionnaire reviewed asynchronously is a thinner assessment than a conversation, and if you have a complicated history — thyroid, pancreatitis, gallbladder, kidney impairment, psychiatric history, or a long medication list — you should want the visit rather than hope to avoid it. You can request one.
Is compounded semaglutide the same as Wegovy?
No. Compounded medications are prepared by licensed pharmacies for individual prescriptions. They are not FDA-approved, have not been evaluated by the FDA for safety, effectiveness or quality, and are not therapeutically equivalent to Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro or Zepbound beyond sharing an active ingredient. The efficacy figures the category advertises — a mean 14.9% body-weight reduction at 68 weeks in STEP 1, 20.9% at 72 weeks in SURMOUNT-1 — come from trials of the approved branded products, not from compounded copies. Credit to RxSpan MD on this point: it labels the category 'Compounded GLP-1' and we found no claim anywhere on the site that its compounded medication is FDA-approved, which is more than can be said for several platforms the FDA wrote to in 2025 and 2026. Since neither semaglutide nor tirzepatide is currently in shortage, ask what clinical basis supports compounding in your specific case.
What about the NAD+, sermorelin and glutathione?
Treat that part of the catalogue with more caution than the GLP-1 side. None of NAD+, sermorelin or glutathione is FDA-approved for the longevity and wellness purposes they are sold for here. Sermorelin is a growth-hormone-releasing analogue; the approved product for its original diagnostic indication was withdrawn from the US market years ago, and its use for 'anti-ageing' is off-label and not supported by outcome trials. Injectable NAD+ and glutathione are compounded preparations with little controlled human evidence for the benefits implied. Note also that this is where the affiliate economics point: the commission on these longevity products is double the default rate. None of that makes them unsafe, and RxSpan MD is not unusual in selling them — but they are the least evidence-backed items in the range, and we would not start here.
Who should not use this?
GLP-1 receptor agonists are contraindicated in anyone with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2, and in anyone who has had a serious hypersensitivity reaction to them. They should not be used in pregnancy, when trying to conceive, or while breastfeeding. Common side effects are nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea and constipation, usually worst during dose escalation; more serious risks include pancreatitis, gallbladder disease and kidney injury from dehydration. Raise a history of pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, severe gastrointestinal disease, diabetic retinopathy or kidney impairment specifically. Testosterone and hormone products carry their own separate contraindications and monitoring requirements.
