3.3 / 5 — the most consumer-friendly return terms and one of the best certificate systems in hemp, held back by a repeat enforcement history and a THC-P line we would not start with.
On the two things we can test directly, Koi does well. A 100% refund inside 90 days, tapering to 50% out to 150 days, is the most generous arrangement we have found in this category and it is the right shape for products people need weeks to evaluate. And the certificates are real: 193 batch-specific reports, organised by product family, searchable using the number printed on your own packaging, with a separate Georgia compliance set. We opened three at random and they resolved to named PDFs. That puts Koi in the small group of hemp brands that will actually show you what is in the bottle. It also, to its credit, does not sell THC-O, which the DEA has said is a controlled substance rather than hemp.
The history is the problem. Two FDA warning letters four years apart is a pattern, and the 2019 one is not a technicality — marketing CBD with reference to cancer, schizophrenia and opioid addiction is the conduct the agency exists to stop, and class actions followed. Those claims are gone now and the 2023 letter reflects a blanket position the FDA has applied to much of the industry, so we would not weigh either as evidence about product quality. Ninety days at full value beats every other hemp brand we have assessed, and the graduated 50% band running out to five months is something we have not seen anywhere else — most companies offer a cliff edge, not a taper. If you are trying a CBD product to see whether it does anything for you, that timescale is genuinely useful, because a fair trial of a sleep or stress product takes weeks rather than days.
What is THC-P, and should I be careful with it?
Yes, treat it with more caution than the rest of the range. Koi's own copy describes THC-P as 'the mightiest cannabinoid to date, surpassing Delta 9 THC and THC-O in potency' and markets it to 'seasoned enthusiasts', in vape cartridges and disposables. That framing is accurate about the potency and is the reason for care: a cannabinoid marketed as substantially stronger than Delta 9 is not somewhere to start, and the dose-response is much less familiar to most users than ordinary THC. It is also semi-synthetic, which matters for the November 2026 change described below. Separately, and to Koi's credit, we checked whether it sells THC-O — the DEA stated in 2023 that THC-O acetate is a controlled substance rather than hemp because it does not occur naturally in the plant. It does not. THC-O appears only in comparison copy on the site, and no THC-O product is in the live catalogue.
What does it cost?
Checked on 7 August 2026 the live catalogue held 31 products from $13.99 to $339.95, with a median of $69.98 — so mid-to-premium rather than budget. Delta 8 gummies were listed at $89.99. The important caveat is that a sitewide 40% discount code was running on the day we looked, which is a very large standing promotion and means the list prices are notional rather than what anyone pays. Judge the actual checkout total, and compare on cost per milligram of cannabinoid rather than on the percentage off, because in this category the percentage is almost always available.
What happens to the THC products in November 2026?
Eleven of the 31 live products are THC-named, and they are the exposed part of the range. On 12 November 2025 the President signed H.R. 5371, which from 12 November 2026 redefines hemp as containing no more than 0.3% total THC on a dry weight basis — explicitly inclusive of THCA and delta-8 — and limits a hemp consumable to no more than 0.4mg of total THC per container. That definition also excludes synthetics, which is directly relevant to the THC-P line. The THCA flower, THCA vapes and THCA pre-rolls are squarely in scope, since THCA now counts toward the total. The U.S. Hemp Roundtable has estimated the standard renders roughly 95% of existing hemp cannabinoid products federally unlawful. The plain CBD range is the part most likely to survive. Do not set up a subscription on the intoxicating products.
Does any of this help with weight?
No, and Koi does not claim it does — which, given the 2019 warning letter was about health claims, is a lesson evidently learned. CBD has no established role in weight management, and THC is well documented to increase appetite, which works directly against a GLP-1.
